Keeping Animals Healthy is Our Mission

Trusted care, dedicated service, and a team who treats your pets like their own.

The History of Mt. Airy Animal Hospital

Mt. Airy Animal Hospital was founded in 1947, beginning a long-standing tradition of providing quality and personalized veterinary care. Over the next two decades, the hospital earned the respect and appreciation of the community through dedicated service and compassionate care.

In 1967, the founding veterinarian retired, and a new practitioner took over, continuing the legacy of excellence. Just a few years later, in 1970, the hospital changed hands again, ushering in a period of growth and modernization. Under this new leadership, the hospital not only maintained its strong reputation but also underwent significant renovations and expansions.

In 1975, a satellite office, Andorra Veterinary Clinic, was established to serve patients in the Lafayette Hill area. This clinic continues to provide veterinary care to this day. Further improvements followed, including a restructuring of the reception, treatment, surgical, and kennel areas, along with the addition of two new exam rooms. Despite the physical expansion, the hospital remained steadfast in its commitment to high-quality care.

In 1988, Mt. Airy Animal Hospital earned accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a distinction held by fewer than 15% of veterinary practices nationwide. This rigorous certification reaffirms our deep commitment to veterinary best practices.

The team has expanded further, bringing in new veterinarians who have contributed to the hospital’s growth and innovation. Under current leadership, the hospital has continued to embrace modern advancements while reflecting the diverse and welcoming community that is its home.

Today, the values established in 1947 remain at the heart of Mt. Airy Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff continue to demonstrate unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to bettering the lives of animals, their families and the community through collaborative and compassionate care.
